Keeping Motivation: “If your tired of starting over, stop giving up!”

May 25, 2012

How many times have you started a workout plan and a week later stop because you’re sore, it was hard or you were down right lazy. Let’s face it, working out is tough, after all it is called working out. To keep your motivation with any workout program you have to find what makes you tick inside. It’s more than just finding out the “why” behind wanting to lose weight, now we have to find out the “what” that makes you push harder, commit 100% and keep those temptations of not working out at bay.

I have stated several times before within articles that finding like minded people that are also looking to achieve weight loss goals is a great tip to keeping motivated. Surrounding yourself with positive people can help push you to the next level or give the jump start you need, however, others can only motivate you so far. YOU have to be the main cheerleader in your corner to stick with a workout routine long term. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing the top seven motivators several clients at EPTS (Endless Possibilities Training Systems) have used to accomplish their short term and long term goals. This week we will discuss the top motivator for losing weight: Money!

# 1 Weight Loss Motivator: Shred pounds for money!

With the weight loss industry being at the all time high within the reality TV series we know that people enjoy watching others achieve progress losing weight. We also know that the stars within the shows start with one motivation factor, the chance to win money. When they start seeing the inches and pound shred they become more dedicated to winning the money.

Having short terms goals in addition to long terms goals can help keep the momentum of a workout plan. Working out can be a true challenge. At Endless Possibilities Training Systems, we have several clients that are motivated by money. They will treat themselves to a new pair of workout shorts or that Xbox game after losing 10lbs. Money is a great motivator and can also help you reach that next step of things if you feel like you’re in a slump. Money can help you do something you prefer not to do and lets face it, who doesn’t like a new pair of shoes. A reward for hitting a short term goal can be as simple as treating yourself to a movie night or a trip to see a local band if you achieve a short term goal.
